Tell me about yourself:
I'm a Latter-Day Saint(Mormon), currently a college freshman, going crazy over life's complicatedness. I'm studying to master in counseling and to become a black belt in every martial arts I can get my hands on. My goal is to be able to develop a program for women, who have been abused, to teach them self defence. This hopefully will allow them to be empowered and overcome the trauma of their trials. I'm all about EMPOWERMENT to women. Even though I am strong and love kicking a guy in the groin once in awhile (only in practice ;), I love to sow and create new things, and help other people.
What is this blog all about?
I've been trying to do a blog for over a year and sadly failed. I had to think why I just couldn't keep up, I've been doing the same thing with a journal. I realised that when I focused more on the spiritual side of my life I was able to do these things. So my blog gives me an opportunity to share the gospel and ideas. I love the Lord and my religion, he gave me my hands that allow me to do what I love. There has to be a balance in all things.
What made you start re-fashioning & when did you start?
I got to the point where shopping was such a chore and no more fun. The reason is I had a detail picture of what I wanted AND it had to be modest. I started looking at simplicity pattens and always found something close that I could make my own. After that, when I would volunteer at the local thrift store, my mind would begin to run wild! Ideas Ideas Ideas non stop. I LOVE THRIFT STORES!! I would take something really ugly cut it sew it and walla brand new and all mine, a one of a kind. Now I've got a goal to never by store brands again.
